Rennie Hoare | Partner and Head of Philanthropy, C HOARE & CO
Alongside being a partner, Rennie is the Head of Philanthropy at C. Hoare & Co., a role he has held since 2018. He also serves as the Chair of Hoares Trustees Limited, which oversees the bank’s donor-advised fund, the Master Charitable Trust, and the Chair of Philanthropy Impact, further establishing his leadership in the field. His expertise in philanthropy has earned him multiple recognitions, including being named Philanthropy Adviser of the Year at the Spear's Wealth Management Awards in 2019 and the CityWealth Magic Circle Awards in 2023. Since 2019, he has been consistently listed as a Top Recommended Philanthropy Adviser in the Spear's 500 guide, and he was recognized in the PAM Top 40 Under 40 in 2021. Under his leadership, C. Hoare & Co. received the Best Philanthropy Engagement award at the Managing Partners' Forum Awards and was named Outstanding Private Bank for Philanthropy at the London Private Banking & Wealth Management Awards in 2019. Rennie is a frequent speaker at prominent industry events, including the Association of Charitable Foundations (ACF), Camden Wealth, Family Business UK (FBUK), Global Family Office Community (GFOC), London Business School (LBS), and Sustainable Finance Week. He has also contributed to research publications by CAMRADARA, Cazenove, the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), and KPMG. George King IV | Senior Wealth Manager, MASECO Private Wealth
George is a Partner at MASECO Private Wealth and a senior investment professional with 25 years of financial markets experience who advises high net worth families on their cross border financial needs. For the first decade of his career, George was doing primary investment research as a Financial Analyst (CFA), spending most of that time as an Institutional Investor-ranked analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York. Though responsible for a range of consumer industries, his notable coverage was the dynamic TMT (telecom, media, and technology) sector. The second half of his career has been focused on working with high-net-worth investor clients, principally with Alliance Bernstein (AB) and Royal Bank of Canada (RBC). Working in New York, Miami and London, George has experience advising a very broad range of investors around the world on investment strategy and portfolio construction, across all major asset classes and multiple currency regimes. George has played a key role in helping to build wealth management businesses for both AB and RBC, across Florida and in London. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, writes for and is quoted in a range of publications, and makes regular appearances on TV and radio programs. Passionate about the critical importance of the intersection of wealth planning and investment management, he has earned a Certificate in Financial Services – Trusts and Estate Planning from the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP). George has also joined the B Lab as a Trustee in 2023. As an American expat in the UK, George has lived through the issues on which he now advises US clients residing in the UK and elsewhere outside the US.
John Pepin | Chief Executive, Philanthropy Impact
John Pepin has over 20 years’ experience as a social entrepreneurial consultant working internationally with over 300 charities, social enterprises, infrastructure support organisations and professional associations. He spent over 15 years as a Chief Executive of a variety of Canadian and UK charities/ social enterprises/ associations. He is Chief Executive, Philanthropy Impact. Philanthropy Impact is a capacity building non-profit organisation at the intersection between philanthropy, social investment, ESG and impact investment. Its mission is to increase the flow of capital for good. It is a membership network creating opportunities to increase and improve and impact/ESG investing, social investment and philanthropy; as well as providing opportunities for private client professional advisors across the spectrum of capital to network with other advisors building relationships creating opportunities to work together to gain referrals and to achieve growth. It achieves mission by building the will and capacity of professional advisors (private client advisors, wealth management, private banking, tax and legal sectors) to support their (U)HNW private clients on their philanthropic and impact investment journey. Its means for realising our vision includes thought leadership and sharing intelligence, events, CPD Certified CISI Endorsed training, 23 Impact, podcasts, bespoke networking opportunities, campaigning, publications including a magazine, and resources for advisors and other stakeholders.
