The latest edition of A Guide to the Major Trusts, has been published by the Directory of Social Change, and shows that the amount given yearly by the top 400 UK trusts exceeds £2bn.

Twenty five trusts alone gave £959m to charities in 2005/06, the latest year for which figures are available, and the amount given by them increased almost three-fold in the 15 years from 1991 to 2006.
