Investment fund to support new children’s charity foundation

News

Investors now have the opportunity to participate in supporting children’s charities with the launch of a new foundation within the financial services industry.

The Fund Aid Foundation, chaired by industry veteran John Kennedy, aims to raise £3m for the Acorns Children’s Hospice, the Association for Children’s Palliative Care (ACT), the Children’s Trust, Clic Sargent and Treehouse.

This will be through what is possibly the first charitable retail fund – a unit class, a sub-division of an existing fund, set up by investment management firm Cazenove Capital.

The innovative partnership will see Cazenove begin to invite investors, from March 31st, to switch to a charitable division of its existing Multi-Manager Diversity Fund, a portfolio providing exposure to equities, bonds, commodities, commercial property, hedge funds and cash. The firm will donate its entire initial charge and at least half of its annual management charge to the foundation.

This means that investors can support charitable work simply by investing in the fund.
