Black Funding Network (BFN) is a community of individuals and institutions who come together to support small and under resourced Black founded and led non-profit organisations.

Built on the ethos of a giving circle, we harness thoughtful and intentional giving to help changemakers of African, Caribbean and mixed heritage who are serving Britain’s Black communities and wider society.

We fund organisations working on solutions for racial equity, social justice, poverty alleviation, crime and punishment, education and youth services, community development, arts and cultural advancement, history and heritage and social enterprise.

BFN organises 2-3 live crowdfunding events a year, at which three approved non-profit organisations nominated, screened and selected by members are invited to present to an audience of potential donors.

Following a pitch and a brief Q&A session for each project, the audience is guided through a live pledging session by our engaging master of ceremonies where donations of money, time, expertise and introductions are welcomed.

The entire event is an evening of philanthropic engagement, networking and fun!

In addition to the funding received, the organisations and the social change they seek to deliver are introduced to a wider audience through our events. This encourages greater collaboration and co-creation which are essential if solutions to pressing societal challenges are to be found.

Black Funding Network is an asset locked Community Interest Company limited by guarantee. Co-founders and Trustees of Black Funding Network are Erika Brodnock, Angela Ferreira, Yvette Griffith and Patricia Hamzahee.
