In financial and wealth management, the client lifecycle management (CLM) is an integral part of the core business practice. A CLM covers the full end-to-end journey of a private client – a lifetime journey often guided by a trusted professional advisor. This journey encompasses a litany of critical processes, and is reliant on interactions with various departments across firms and disciplines.

What is often not so well known, or confidently understood, is where purpose and impact come into play in the normal CLM of a private wealth client, when to broach the subject of philanthropy or impact investing.

Philanthropy Impact’s research has identified 23 distinct services required by a client on their ‘donor journey’. These services span the client relationship, and at the very root of a robust and successful CLM is the ability to understand your clients’ motivations, goals, and ambitions for their wealth – holistically.  This is even more important for the new generation of wealth, women of wealth and the next generation, whose interests are more focused towards a purpose driven wealth strategy.

In collaboration with our members at Hawksford, a corporate, private, funds and clients services firm, we will highlight the phases in the lifecycle of a private wealth client to help and guide clients in making the most of their business decisions and wealth. The panel will explore when a professional advisor can begin a conversation with their clients about philanthropy, social investment, and impact investing.
