Special seminar: Improving opportunities for voluntary sector engagement in extended schools

March 27th, 12.30 – 2.30pm

This special lunchtime seminar for funders and independent foundations, to be held at the Association of Charitable Foundation (ACF), will consider some of the new and exciting projects that are emerging in communities where local groups combine with other stakeholders and schools for the benefit of children and parents.

The context to many of these projects is the Every Child Matters initiative – the government programme for a national framework to support the ‘joining up’ of children’s services – education, culture, health, social care and justice. Extended schools are seen as a key way of implementing this programme, in which the school works with the local authority, local providers and other schools to provide access to a range of integrated services.

This seminar will hear from two organisations with practical experience of developing extended schools on the ground.

The seminar costs £25 (£20 for ACF members), which includes a buffet lunch served from 12.30 to 1pm. For more information and to book online visit ACF’s website.
