New campaign gearing up companies to give through payroll

News

A campaign to promote payroll giving to an extra one million employees in the next year is being backed by Duncan Bannatyne of Dragon’s Den fame, charities minister Phil Hope, Swindon MP Anne Snelgrove and payroll giving agency Workplace Giving UK.

The campaign, Geared for Giving, will urge business leaders to become involved in payroll giving by either introducing, promoting or re-launching dormant payroll giving schemes within their companies.

Geared for Giving's website was designed to give advice to employers and employees on how to give through the payroll. The campaign was launched by Snelgrove this week to business leaders at the House of Commons.

The findings of an independent review into payroll giving, commissioned by the Institute of Fundraising, will be released this summer.
