Mulder receives lifetime achievement award for philanthropy

News (UK)

Dr Fred Mulder CBE, founder of The Funding Network and co-founder of Network for Social Change, was celebrated for his contribution to philanthropy with a 'life-time achievement' award at the Spears Wealth Management Awards held last month.

The Funding Network has raised more than £4m in 10 years through its pioneering 'open giving circle' model that describes itself as The Dragon's Den of giving.

Mulder told Philanthropy UK: "I feel very honoured by this award.  I very much hope that it will encourage others to find the pleasures of contributing to making a difference.  I am, though, ever so slightly alarmed at the “lifetime achievement” aspect, as I think I have many good years of philanthropy yet to go!"

Among the other philanthropy winners of the ‘Oscars for movers and shakers in London’ was Fran Perrin, founder of the Indigo Trust, a grant-making foundation that funds technology-driven projects to bring about social change, largely in African countries, focuses mainly on innovation, transparency and citizen empowerment.

Both Mulder and Perrin are alumni of the Institute for Philanthropy Workshops.
