Guide to impact measurement aims to help philanthropists spend money wisely

News (International, UK)

A new guide to the measurement and analysis of impact shows philanthropists how to measure the social and financial return on investments.

The Good Analyst: impact measurement and analysis in the social–purpose universe is written by Adrian Hornsby and published by Investing for Good.

The foreword says: “This book is about how analysing social impact can inform and guide the flow of capital through the social-purpose universe to the places where it can do most good.”

The guide should appeal to charities, social enterprises, funders, commissioners, policy makers, advisers, consultants and academics.

The core of the book is a methodology to look at social purpose organisations and analyse their impacts in a robust and consistent fashion.

A fuller review will be published in the next edition of our quarterly magazine.
