Demand increases for Will Aid

News

The biennial Will Aid campaign will now be run annually, every November, due to demand from the public and solicitors.

Participating solicitors provide a free Will-writing service to people in the UK, who make a donation to nine Will Aid partner charities, which include Save the Children and Christian Aid. Donors can also choose other charities to include in their legacy.

Will Aid started in 1988 and has raised nearly £7m in donations to date, with 120,000 people having used the scheme to write their will.

Shirley Marshland, campaign manager of Will Aid, says, “Every Will Aid produces a wealth of enquiries from people wanting to make their Will; our aim is to ensure that every one of these people has access to a local participating solicitor. Running the campaign every year will ensure that people come to know November as the month to put their affairs in order with Will Aid”.
