The Baring Foundation is running a special initiative to promote intercultural dialogue for the first time: the ‘Awards for Bridging Cultures’.

The awards are being run by the Insitute of Community Cohesion (ICC) and funded by the Foundation. They will reward grass roots, community and voluntary organisations for local schemes and projects which promote intercultural dialogue and understanding.

The thinking behind this work can be found in a paper by Malcolm James called Interculturalism; Theory and Policy.

There are three categories for the award: Voluntary or community groups or organisations; voluntary or community groups or organisations; local authorities, public sector organisations and private companies.

James' paper is feely available on the foundation's website and further details for applications can can be found on the awards' website.

The deadline for application is 1st October
