The Philanthropy Programme - Next Generation: Transforming Philanthropy
Please note that this event can only be booked through the Philanthropy Programme website!
Event focus
Trends and research both show that the younger generation of philanthropist is developing a different style of giving than the older generations. Interest in measuring impact and return on investment, as well as social investment endeavours and new business models are
increasingly common concerns amongst NextGen philanthropists. The resulting effect is in the advice a younger client may be seeking of their professional advisor. Also the adaptable approach an advisor must take when advising a multi-generational family with potentially conflicting motivations and objectives, particularly when it comes to business sellout.
In an era when old and new beliefs co-exist there is now the demand on a professional advisor to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to satisfy both sides of the coin. An expert panel will explore these themes of changing advice and methodologies. Topics will include:
- Generational differences in giving - the impact for the advisor
- Changing motivations and tools for how to advise
- Generational turnover in a family: Handling the "what next?" conversation
- Next generations' interests in reporting, ROI, social investment and impact
