Geneva: Women, Philanthropy and Social Change
Research shows that women are driven by values, not valuables. Impact and measuring return on investment are their primary focus, and venture philanthropy is one of the preferred models. Research has also found consistently that women and men give differently: women are more likely to give, and to give more, than men in similar situations. As a result women of wealth are expecting more than wealth advice from their professional wealth advisers – they want to discuss approaches to philanthropy and social investment as part of their wealth planning.
The panel will focus on:
- Why women give
- How women take a strategic and engaged approached to philanthropy
- Trends amongst women of wealth and what they look for from their advisors
- How organisations can support women philanthropy
- How a better understanding of gender’s role in charitable behaviours can help organisations engage men and women more effectively – according to how they wish to be engaged.
