Amsterdam: Philanthropists and Professional Advisers - Working Together for Lasting Change
How can professional advisers help philanthropists to translate their motivations into action?
Philanthropists are increasingly ambitious about impact. Notwithstanding, research carried out by Philanthropy Impact on the level of philanthropy advice amongst the top 383 wealth advisory firms in the UK as well as a survey of individual giving patterns suggests that there is a service gap. Even though clients are increasingly interested, only one in five firms surveyed offer philanthropy advice.
The research also shows that philanthropists who take professional advice give 17 times more than those who do not. How can advisers rise to the occasion and trigger an exponential increase in philanthropic giving?
At the roundtable, we will ask:
- What advice do philanthropists really need? And what’s best to get the conversation started?
- What does everyone need to get right to achieve lasting impact?
- When and how can advisers pool resources and collaborate?
- What can be done to change the ethos and behaviour of professional wealth advisers to support clients on their donor journey?
